Works closely with pre-basic training soldiers instructing required modules and provides training with emphasis on drill and ceremony, customs and courtesies, physical fitness, basic rifle marksmanship, military discipline and bearing and Army Values provides support to local Army Reserves and ROTC units assisting with basic rifle marksmanship, land navigation, administration of APFT, and other basic combat training tasks.ĭrill Sergeant in a Basic Combat Training (BCT) company Participates in the Drill Sergeant Preparatory Course completes required modules for qualification to attend Drill Sergeant School. Performs duties as a Drill Sergeant in a Basic Combat Training Platoon consisting of up to 60 Initial Entry Training Soldiers each 10 week cycle skillfully executes the mission of transforming civilians into competent and confident Soldiers maintains the highest standards while teaching the basics of Soldiering assists in preparing, executing, and assessing rifle marksmanship training, combat fitness training and common tasks skills training develops and maintains discipline and ensures the health and personal well being of all assigned Soldiers assists in the accountability of over $200,000 of equipment.
